About Me
Hi Everyone!
I'm the owner & creator of this website. If you have a tutorial, video, or any other content you would like to have posted on this website please contact me and I would be happy to put it up and put your name on the contributor's section as well if you wish.
I have been building custom fishing rods since the mid 80's. I learned by reading the book by Dale P. Clemens "Advanced Custom Rod Building". Back then getting help/advice from others was almost nonexistent. Thankfully that has changed!
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley (a suburb of L.A. county), Ca USA and moved to Sacramento, Ca USA in 1989. Married with two adult son's and now 2 step-grandkids!

Thanks for the kind words. I am now at day 2 of rod building. Doing my homework of practice on wraps. I am really enthused at this point. Nice work that I don't have to go out to a cold shop and build a warmup fire.
Opened new site last year. Check out my new OSU custom built theme rod.

Thanks Ray... there's always something new to learn. Short cuts is mostly what I'm looking for. We all know we don't receive enough for all the time that is put into our efforts. If anyone needs anything feel free to contact me.
Thank you. I am new to this, & just bought my 1st rod blank & kit. Looking of some ideas and direction. I am hoping to make this a new hobby since I just retired. Looking forward to learning from some of the local talent. Thanks again. G
Thanks Raymond, for the warm welcome and the invite to check out the NERBS. I have been to several gatherings and have learned so many new tricks. Ive been building since 2001, for myself and friends mostly, about four to five rods a year. Great hobby!!I know this site will be usefull for me, I hope to contribute as well.
Thanks again... Dave
Thanks Raymond. Looking forward to building my first rod this winter. The outlaws gave me a surf rod kit, and your site has already given me a headstart and some interesting ideas. Thanks for all the hard work!
Thanks Raymond. I look forward to using the information I can get from this web site and hope to be able to contribute. However, I am new at rod building and maybe by asking questions I will get people to think about something new or different.
